Simple

The first step of the receptionist when the owner arrives with the animal at the veterinary clinic is to look up the owner of the animal in the directory.

In this chapter, we will present an example of searching for an owner. The functionality is located in the menu Veterinary | Directories | Directory of owners and animals, tab Simple.

TIP

For more detailed information about the program forms, read in the PANTHEON VET Guide, in the chapter Search by animal or owner.

CASE DESCRIPTION

Peter Pritlikavi brings a dog to the veterinary clinic with the intention of obtaining medication for external parasites. The receptionist asks for the name of the animal's owner and the dog's name to check if they are already registered in the program. The search process will be carried out with the following steps:

  1. Opening the form Find owners and animals
  2. Entering search criteria in the Simple tab
  3. Selecting the sought code

1. Opening the form Find owners and animals

The responsible person opens the form where they can search by various criteria.

  • On the form Directory of owners and animals the responsible person clicks the button Search.

TIP

The form Find owners and animals can also be opened with the shortcut Ctrl+F.

  • The form Find owners and animals  opens in a new window. The content of the tab Simpleis displayed.

2. Entering search criteria in the Simple tab

The responsible person continues searching in the tab Simple, where it is possible to search by multiple data at the same time.

  • In our case, in the field Search string they enter the name and surname of the owner: Peter Pritlikavi.
  • They click the button Search.

TIP

In the field Search string you can easily scan the barcode of the animal's chip (animal ID) with a scanner, thus speeding up the search process.

  • The search returns a result, displaying the owner's information on the right side of the screen, and at the bottom of the screen, a list of animals that the owner has registered in the PANTHEON VET program.

TIP
  1. In the field Search string you can also enter a combination of searches across different fields (e.g., phone number and animal ID), separating the search criteria with spaces. Example: 041 538 171 ID000030.
  2. The fields in which the program searches for the entered criteria are indicated below the field Search string.

WARNING

If the owner is already registered in the Directory of owners and animals (or Directory of subjects), but has not yet registered any animals, the search will not display them on the list of the form Find owners and animals. In this case, find the subject/owner directly in the Directory of owners and animals and add an animal to them.

3. Selecting the sought code

The responsible person sees the list of animals returned by the program as a search result in the Overview section.

  • They click on the code of the dog Archie (thus selecting it) and then click the button Select.

  • The search window closes. The form Entering owner/animalis displayed, where the responsible person now sees the code of the owner and the animal they were searching for.

TIP

If only animal data is available, a more detailed search can be performed in the tab Advanced, which is described in detail in the chapter Advanced.
