Capacity Utilization

To calculate capacity utilization select all planned operations and multiply them with the number of units of product. The following formula is used:

operation duration = Tsu + (Tpr * n)

Tsu - set-up time

Tpr - production time

plus the number of products/semi-finished products planned

As can clearly be observed product quantiy does not influence Tsu. Preparation is always the same regardless of the volume of series. Here you can learn to save considerable amounts of time. It is allowed to join equal semi-finished products simultaneously creating them for multiple finished products. See the corresonding topic for detailed treatment.

There are two ways in whic you can use capacity utilization. First of all you have the cumulative way which enables you to view number of working hours required for individual machine, holder or company. Using this method is suitable for more experienced partners. They are aware of the capacity availability and how long does the production of planned products take. That is, that is whether the information stored in the computer can be realized or not.

The other way would be to sue scheduling. In this case end dates in production of individual products are used and start of work is calculated based on capacities. The procedure is called scheduling. You can view available capacities at will. View availability of division on the monthly, weekly or daily basis. You can also view a specific operation for a product/semi-finished product.
