Fixed asset was activated on April 17th, 2007. Its coss is €5,000.

On December 31st, 2007 at the end of fiscal year, calculate fixed asset's depreciated cost that is included as expense.

 

Depreciation report is created for the period from May 1st, 2007 to December 31st, 2007 since depreciation is accounted from the start of the month following fixed asset's activation date.

000001.gif Depreciation is calculated according to the activation date entered in the Fixed Assets register (in this case from April 17th, 2007). This means that it starts May 2007.

Below you can see adjustment in the Fixed Assets register after confirming report:

Lines of journal entry that are created using automatic posting of depreciation report include depreciated cost (e.g. 432D) and its contra entry on the Fixed Assets account (e.g. 0500C):
