Contract Prices

You can use various pricing using the PANTHEON program suite. Besides three price levels and the possibility to enter prices directly in lines, the Goods module offers a special method for setting contract prices.

Its name already tells us of its function. It pertains to a special price list, related to a certain special agreement. With contract prices you can define any extraordinary deviation from the price list valid for a certain subject or type of subject, certain items or types of items. Contract prices can be used both in sales and for purchasing.

Contract price list is most easily represented by a table, displaying prices set for certain subjects.

                              Item 1
Item 2
Subject A
€150 4% discount
Subject B
€12
Subject C
Formula 12 (quant. > 10 - 5%)
Subject D

Thus you can observe

  • the contract price of 150 EUR for item 1 and 4% discount for item 2 was agreed with subject A,
  • the contract price of 12 EUR for item 1 was agreed with subject B, whereas no arrangements were made for item 2,
  • a 5% discount was granted to subject C if the total purchased amount exceeds 10 products,
  • there wasn't any agreement concluded between subject D so that price index will be applied.

You can set multiple pricing categories in contract prices: e.g. contract price, contract discount or both.

In addition, you can set whether it will be used in purchasing or sales.

                             Purchase/Sale
Item 1
Subject A
S €150
Subject B
P 97€

The mechanism is so flexible that you can enter arrangements when you sell and at the same time purchase a product to and from the subject.

                              Purchase/Sale
Item 1
Subject A
S €150
Subject A
P 145€

Contract price lists can be very lengthy, containing many entries. To make work easier, set type for subjects and link them with contract prices.

                              Type/Subject
Item 1
Subject X
T €150
Subject D
S 3%

The price of 150 EUR is valid if subject A and subject B are of type "X". There is no special price determined for subject C. Therefore, the price index from contract price list applies for it. You set 3% discount for subject D.

Moreover, you can set contract prices for item categories. First you have to merge items in category and then enter it in contract prices. In addition you have to enter it as primary category in Items.

Category/Item
Subject A
Subject B
Category III
C 3% 4%
Item 1
M €150

You can observe

  • that a 3% discount for all items, which belong to category III, was granted to subject A. Furthermore, special price for item 1 (which might belong to category III) is set at 150 EUR.
  • A 4% discount was set for category III for subject B.

You can merge categories and subject types in contract prices as can be observed above.

Prices can be entered in the following registers:

Of course, contract prices are only entered at one location, and they can be viewed in all dependent tables.

Example:

Enter contract price of 100 EUR for item 1 being sold by Supplier ltd. in item's contract prices or subject's contract prices. It gets displayed in two locations: that is, contract prices of supplier and in Items.

Other contract price list are linked similarly. Below you can observe price arrangements: that is, for subject and item ID (e.g. when purchasing item 1 from Supplier ltd.), for subject and item categories (e.g. a 10% discount is granted to Customer ltd. when purchasing goods of category I), for subject and item ID (e.g. when selling item 1 to customers of type K), and for subject type and item category (e.g. a 10% discount is granted to customers of type K for items of category I).

Having set price or agreed on any other factor included in sale price (formula, discount, etc.) on different levels (for example, item and at the same time for item category, top-hierarchy contract price will be used:

  1. Sale price formula (in sales)
  2. Contract prices of type Subject - Item ID
  3. Contract prices of type Subject - Item Category
  4. Contract prices of type Subject Type - Item ID
  5. Contract prices of type Subject Type - Item Category
  6. Price list from Items (in sales: according to price index; in purchase: supplier's price)
