Transparent subject IDs are usually assigned in PANTHEON. It simplifies searching for subjects through lists.

There are cases when such assigning of IDs would not be optimum. Such cases are most common with companies which are selling to citizens because there can be multiple subjects having the same first and last name. In such cases use non-transperent subject IDs.

You can assign IDs manually or make it easier by setting automatic assigning subject ID in Program Parameters. There are multiple types of automatically assigned subject IDs:

• without the leading constant (e.g. 0000000001),
• with leading constant (e.g. CUS-00000001),
• using selection field (e.g. 000001-999999).

Because automatic assigning of subject IDs is a global setting (that is, it is valid for the whole company), all subjects will be entered with the set ID.
