Cost estimation is peformed to calculate production cost of products and semi-finished products which are produced and assembled. Here belong items of type P - Product having their own product structure. That is, assembly parts and operations as specified in product specificatons. Product specifications specify quantities of planned (standard) materials used and work.
By adequately specifiying resource allows to include indirect production cost.
Having used the appropriate key you can link general operating cost with resources.
Most products for which you want to make an assessment usually have multi-level specification structure. Calculated cost estimation usually shows structure of cost across all levels. The general cost for built-in materials and the work done is expressed in the currency specified.
Cost estimation can be shown in the following two ways: Detailed cost estimation of an item together with production cost across all specification structure or summary cost estimation for a specific grouip of products containing only summary data.
The price of materials and work can be determined according to various criteria when performing cost estimation. On the other hand, it can be done by using settings for manufacturing document types.
