Manually Initiated Synchronization

Manually Initiated Synchronization

Manually initiated synchronization works like follows:

  1. Run OTOS as master. OTOS exports data, sends it via e-mail and waits for the reply.
  2. While the OTOS master is waiting, run OTOS as slave on the other computer. Data sent via e-mail will be imported and local data exported.
  3. When the master's waiting time expires, it imports data that has been sent by the slave.

059808.gif If the master's waiting time expires before the slave is able to send back its data, increase the waiting time, delete the e-mail inbox (Delete messages) and repeat the process.

Inititating a synchronization cycle when using only one profile is very simple. You just need one shortcut to OTOS and run it when required.

If you are using several profiles you will need just as many shortcuts.

For each shortcut, specify a different profile (using command line parameters) and rename the shortcuts to something meaningful.
