Material Shrinkage - GROSS
1. Document Type
Let us look at an example when it is set for manufacturing (work orders) document type that the quantity of shrinkage will be deducted from the used quantity.
First let us take a look at the gross method.

2. Product Specification
Shrinkage can be calculated based on the quantity of material used. Everything is the same when using the net method. The only difference is that specification is created in a different way.
- To issue material shrinkage using internal documents use document type 690.
- (To issue product shrinkage you need not use internal document of receiving (710).
- Let su try and produce the following: PRODGROSS, where specification is created for 1 piece. MATERIAL01 represents the first assembly part used in production of product. There was 1.9 pieces of material used and shrinkage was 0,1 pieces (total consumption: 2 pieces). MATERIAL02 represents the second assembly part used in production. We use 1 piece and no shrinkage occurs.
- (To do this you have to set item type 300 in the Items register.)

3. Work Order
Create a work order for production of 2 pieces PRODGROSS.
When processing work order shrinkage is displayed per unit of product and components as entered in specification (Shrinkage/1) and total product quantity and material shrinkage (Shrinkage). In our case we defined only material shrinkage. That is why product shrinkage is equal 0.

4. Receiving of Products
Internal receiving of product (according to the settings of work order document type document type 610 is used): PRODGROSS, 2 pieces.
5. Issuing Used Materials
Internal issue of used materials (document type 640):

6. Issuing Material Shrinkage
Internal issue of material shrinkage (document type 690): When issuing in this way the issuing warehouse (WO WAREHOUSE) serves at the same time as the delivery location since the quantity will be used in future:

7. Cost Analysis
Let us take a look at cost analysis:

 |
If you compare cost analysis with the one you got using a norm or product specification created by net method, you can see that material consumption and value of product match. |
