Picking List and Changing Quantities in an Order

Picking List and Changing Quantities in an Order

Picking List and Changing Quantities in an Order

010381.gif010411.gif010382.gif010383.gif

If you change the quantity in an order for which records in the picking list have already been created, the program will open the picking list as soon as you make a change to the order and will display the line that you have changed. In this window, you can change picking list lines (quantity, date, adding or deleting picking list lines).

000001.gif The sum of lines in the picking list can be less than or equal to the total non-dispatched quantity of this line in the order, regardless of whether the order was dispatched using the picking list or from a different warehouse where the picking list is not used.
000001.gif It can happen that an order is dispatched from two warehouses, one of which does not use the picking list.
000001.gif If you try to lower the quantity in the Quantity field below the quantity in the Dispatched field, the program will report an error (see The quantity on the picking list must be greater than or equal to the dispatched quantity!).
000001.gif The quantity in the Quantity field cannot be greater than the ordered quantity. If it is greater, the program will report an error  (see Quantity on the picking list can be less or equal to the quantity on the order! Maximum quantity is %s!).

Example:

The customer has ordered 100 pieces of an item which are to be dispatched from a warehouse where goods are issued through the picking list. The deliver-by date is 15.5.2007. You issue the customer 80 pieces from the warehouse-retail, where goods are not issued through the picking list. Through the warehouse-picking list you can issue the customer only 20 pieces.

1. Entry of an order and the transfer to the picking list

2. Issue from a warehouse which does not run through the picking list

You issue the customer with the adding sales order function 80 pieces of the ordered item from the warehouse-retail (where goods are not issued through the picking list).

The order is now partially dispatched. Since issued goods have not been dispatched though the picking list, this issue does not appear on the picking list automatically.

3. Issue from a warehouse through the picking list

Once you issue to the customer 80 pieces from the warehouse-retail, you issue the remaining 20 pieces from the warehouse-wholesale with the adding orders through the picking list. Regardless to the quantity on the picking list, this function will only offer the non-dispatched quantity from the order.

4. Splitting lines of the picking list automatically

As by the partially dispatched goods (see Picking list and changing quantities in an issue document), the program will automatically split lines as following:

  • issued line (for 20 pieces which were issued through the picking list);
  • non-dispatched line (for 80 pieces which were issued through the adding function, but not though the picking list and from another warehouse).

001099.gif

000001.gif A line is non-dispatched only from the view of the picking list, because it was not dispatched through it.  However, the sales order is totally dispatched and the program will not offer this line to be added for the transfer to the issue document.
000001.gif The list of orders which have been totally or partially dispatched without the strict use of the picking list can be reported by the Quantity inconsistencies (Picking list quantity check) report (for more information see Filter settings).
000001.gif In order to ensure the consistency of data you are not allowed to delete order lines which have already been (partially or totally) dispatched through a picking list. If you try to delete a line or order, the program will report an error (see The order line has already been dispatched through the picking list! Therefore it cannot be deleted!).
000001.gif If an order line has already been transferred to the picking list, but not yet dispatched through it, you can delete the order line and the line of the picking list. In this way, the program displays a warning (see A picking list has already been created for the order line(s)! Do you want to delete it anyway?).
