Animal entry (shelter)

In the shelter, they accept animals that are found, possibly injured. They are brought in by finders or the city service. In the shelter, the animal is properly cared for, registered, and photographed. If the animal has a chip, they try to find the owner. If the animal has no registered ownership, they assess whether it is suitable for adoption. Registered animals are published on an online platform where current owners (lost animals) or new owners (adopters) can find them.

We have prepared an example of recording data about an animal in the shelter for you. The data is recorded in the tab Shelter, which is located in the menu Veterinary | Codes | Owner and animal codes.

TIP

For more detailed information about the program forms, read in the Guide to PANTHEON VET, in the chapter Shelter.

CASE DESCRIPTION

A finder named Alen Cat brought a cat to the shelter that had been staying near their house for a few days. Since he cannot take care of it, he brought it to the shelter in case its owners are already looking for it. In the shelter, the cat and the finder were registered in the program. The animal was properly examined and cared for, placed in accommodation, and published on the online portal. The entire registration process was carried out in the following steps:

  1. Animal entry
  2. Data entry in the Movements tab
  3. Data entry in the Care tab
  4. Data entry in the Review tab
  5. XX

1. Animal entry

The responsible person in the shelter enters the animal in the Owner and animal codes. The process of entering a new code for the animal is described in detail in the chapter Animal entry (general) and Cat entry.

2. Data entry in the Movements tab

The responsible person in the shelter enters data about the finder, the location of the animal's discovery, general information about the arrival at the shelter, and records the general condition of the animal and description. The detailed process of entering data is described in the chapter Arrival.

3. Data entry in the Care tab

In the shelter, the animal was placed in accommodation and provided with water and food. The detailed process of entering data about the animal's care is described in the chapter Care.
