Care

In the shelter, animals can be housed for longer periods due to various reasons (puppies, illness, socialization, searching for an owner/adopter, etc.). In these cases, additional care needs to be provided for them, which is recorded in the tab Care. 

In this chapter, we will present an example of entering data about the care of animals in the shelter. The functionality is located in the menu Veterinary | Codes |​ Code of owners and animals, tab  Shelter.

CASE DESCRIPTION A cat was admitted to the shelter, which gave birth to four puppies just two days old. Since the puppies are too small to look for adopters, the caregivers in the shelter provide daily care for the cat with the puppies so they can grow. The caregiver records the care provided for the animals in the PANTHEON VET program with the following steps: Searching for the animal code Entering data in the Care tab

WARNING The cat was first registered in the shelter upon admission in the Code of owners and animals and the data about Arrival. Only then could the caregiver record the care data.

1. Searching for the animal code

The responsible person searches for the cat's code on the list Animal overview. 

• The detailed procedure for searching using filters is described in the chapter Filters on the animal overview list. 

The image shows the sought result for the cat.

2. Entering data in the Care tab

The responsible person wants to record data about the additional care of the cat with the puppies. This is done by positioning on the cat's code with the number: 2102000003.

• The responsible person clicks on the selected cat code, then clicks on the tab Shelter and then the sub-tab Care.

• Clicks in the table, where in the new line, in the field Date, enters the date of care performed: 17.6.2021.

• Continues by entering in the field Qty. In our case, enters: 1.

• In the field Note enters: Additional care for the puppies and mother.

•  The responsible person wants the labor cost to be considered in billing, so they check the box in the Billing field. 

• Saves the record by changing the position (arrow down and back up on the keyboard).
