Desktop Sharing

Users can show their desktop to the support specialist. This way, the support specialist can very effectively demonstrate how to solve the problem.

WARNING

The support specialist cannot look at your computer desktop without your approval.

In order for them to be able to do anything on your computer, you need to give them specific permission.

By keeping an eye on what the support specialist is doing on your screen at all times, you are not only learning to solve the problem, but you are also monitoring their work.

Table of contents

  1. The support specialist asks for access to the user's desktop
  2. Enabling the support specialist control
  3. Disconnecting

1. The support specialist asks for access to the user's desktop

Support specialist User

By clicking the Show button, the support specialist asked the user for access to his/her desktop.

The user is presented with a window, asking if he/she allows their desktop to be shown to the support specialist. To allow the display of the desktop, click Yes. To refuse, click No.

Once the support specialist has a view of your desktop, you can show them exactly where the problem lies.

2. Enabling the support specialist control

Support specialist User
The support specialist can show you the solution on your computer. To do this, you need to give them control – share the use of your keyboard and mouse. By pressing the F12 key, you enable the support specialist to work on your computer. As long as they are working, the Remote Support box will be red, alerting you that someone else may be using your computer.

3. Disconnecting

You can disconnect at any time, by clicking the Disconnect or Cancel button.
After disconnecting or closing the window, your desktop can no longer be viewed by the support specialist, nor can they use your computer.

WARNING

After the session is over, no viruses or active programs that could compromise the security of your computer remain.
