58712.gif The closing process starts automatically if you checked Auto-Close WO when Released Qty Reached when setting-up work order document types in General. In addition all conditions must be met, that is, the work order realization, according to volume and in compliance with the settings of document type used in manufacturing plus all lines of transactions must be marked as finished.

Having confirmed closing the process starts. Certain conditions have to be met in order to successfully close work order. The former depend on the settings of work order document types as can be observed in the follow-up.

If quantities recorded in lines of material are not issued to work order completely and reported operations and the default product quantity are not issued from work order to warehouse, the closing is not executed. Error messages are returned when trying to close work orders.

The condition that has to be met when closing work orders is that all lines of work order are marked as finished (Finished checkbox is checked). Closing is then performed automatically. For details on how to execute it manually see follow-up.

You cannot close work order for which serial numbers were allocated. They were entered in lines for issuing quantities which have not been confirmed or in lines for receiving quantities which have not been confirmed. It is required to relieve serial numbers or confirm issue/receiving of the entered quantities. The following message is returned in some cases: 4572 - Error closing WO!

In case quantity check for work order is set in document type you have to issue adequate quantities before you can close the work order. You will be unable to manually check Finished checkbox. As can be observed on the image below you can issue missing quantities when attempting to mark line of material as finished. Should you select this option the missing quantities are entered automatically. Click Confirm Issue.

You are refused to check line of operation as finished plus the following message appears. First you should report total production time.

In case you set Used Quantity Must Be Equal or Less Than Required in work order document types you can check the missing quantities as finished confirming them subsequently. This way conditions are met allowing you to close WO.

Having closed work order, you can reopen it. To do this click Open WO in WO Creation. You have to confirm opening of work order and having confirmed the operation the status is changed to Partially Finished. Thus you are allowed continue executing material and working transactions. Using the above-mentioned button enables you to close work orders which are open and open those which are closed.
