The following terms are used throughout PANTHEON:

Database A collection of data. It can be compared to a file folder holding a number of pages.
Record An entry in the database. If a database is analogous to a file folder, a record would be one page in the folder.
Line An item in a record. According to the above analogy, it would be a line on a page.
Register A collection of data that is often retrieved but rarely changed, e.g. customers, suppliers, currencies, etc.
Subjects All individuals or entities taking part in the business process. Here belong customers, suppliers, banks, etc
Department An organizational division of the company. The most important type of department is a warehouse, which is in fact a department with stock tracking enabled. Departments can also be used for any other company organization unit.
Business transaction A closed set of related payables, receivables and direct cost.
Items All tangible and intangible things that are part of the business process. Items include goods, products, raw materials, services, packaging, and other items that can be entered into a document line.
Document type A type of business event taking place in PANTHEON. Examples are issuing invoices, receiving items for repairs, making inter-warehouse transfers, posting journal entries, etc.
Movement A document type that affects warehosue inventory. Here are included incoming and outgoing invoices, goods on loan, consignment transactions, inter-warehosue transfers, etc.
Report type A template based on which PANTHEON generates a report. It can be compared to a fill-out form where the blanks are filled by the application.
Report Data retrieval from the database according to user-specified criteria. In other words, a list of records that match certain criteria, e.g. invoices issued during a specific time frame.
BOM A list of parts that constitute a product. Mostly used in manufacturing, but also for compound services and compound goods. A BOM can be used for any item that is set as an own product.
