Adding a Group

When you:

  • select New User Group option by right-clicking the tree structure in Administration Panel calling up a menu, or
  • move the pointer to the name of individual group in the tree structure of Administration Panel, or
  • move to the the Users option that can be found in the tree structure of Administration Panel

a panel where you can view and enter ID or name of the user group.

44559.gif

A group is defined by naming it and adding a note. The following functions can be found in the taskbar which prove useful:

44379.jpg Add New Group - Opens a window for entering the name of a new group. (as can be observed in the image above)
44380.jpg Save - Saves the entered data.
44381.jpg Discard Changes - Discards the entered data.
44382.jpg Add New User - Adds a new user  to the existing group.
Name

Here you can enter a one-of name of the user group. If you are trying to enter a name which already exists in the database, an error is returned (see User group with that name already exists!)
Note Here you can enter a note to the user group.

Deleting User Groups

You can delete the group by simply selecting it in the tree structure on the left-side of Administration Panel and then pressing the 44383.gif button or by selecting the Delete User Group command from the right-click menu:

44560.gif

Before actually attempting to delete user groups you need to confirm delete operation (see Do you really want to delete user group?).

44385.gif You cannot delete a user group when it contains at least one member! When trying to delete it anyway, the following error is returned (see User group contains users! Cannot delete!).

Before actually attempting to delete you ought to transfer all the existing users to some other group (see transferring users between groups).
