PANTHEON RE edition is intended to function as the central point of retail units using multiple cash registers where goods are received and invoices issued to taxable persons. The RE edition enables monitoring sales orders, issuing quotations as well as directly issuing purchase orders. Orders are linked to invoices for sake of transparency.
Besides this distributed functionality the PANTHEON RE edition introduces another new feature to the PANTHEON family, since it enables functioning of POS cash registers also in case of network failure or when you are not connected to the database anymore.
Because it belongs to the R license family, it is possible to combine it with the SE/ME/MF versions. Companies using the MF license scheme at the central and which bought MF licenses also for retail units, can in this way replace them with the more cost-effective PANTHEON RE version.
Differences Between the RT and RE License
RT license is used with cash registers and is because of that customized for use with low-end computers. It is distinguished for its small memory and processor capacity requirements.
On the other hand, the RE license is intended for use in retail or cash terminal users. Besides the cash register functionalities, it introduces additional functions necessary for use in retail. It is wise to take a look at individual functions of the specific license as listed below:

Topology and Performance
In every branch office retail unit PANTHEON RE edition must be applied at least on one position. RE license controls functioning of RT terminals and serves as the central point where data exchange between the terminals occurs. Instead of the PANTHEON RE license you can also use SE/ME/MF licenses as central point in retail, although you cannot use functionalities in instances of network failure occurring.
Both for RT as well as RE license you must have installed your own database (ususally this is the MSDE database from the demo PANTHEON installation version). The database for RE version is the primary database used by the retail unit and can be synchronized with the main database of company central using the OTOS client. The RT databases are intended for performance in instances of connection failure (local data store). RE license must be entered in the parameters of RT terminal to synchronize data located on the computer.
Starting RT license it is checked whether RE database can be accessed. If this is successful, recent changes made to the registers are transferred from RE to RT database. If communication with the main database is terminated, RT automatically detects it and starts using its own local database in order to ensure continous operation. The timer is launched simultaneously, trying to access RE database (the interval set in the Settings). Data synchroniztion is performed when communication is established. All issued invoices and cash receipts are transferred from the RT to the RE. At the same time all changes made to registers are transferred from RE to RT.
PANTHEON RE edition also includes the OTOS Client license, so that off-line synchronization with the central company database can be preformed.
