Create WO from Plan
Create WO from Plan
Create WO from Plan
Click Create WO in the Plan window in order to start with production using work orders in lines of the plan. You can launch production from individual lines, for all lines at once or gradually by selected segments. The entire plan is launched in production when all lines of plan have been launched.
Basically, by starting production directly from plan you open work orders, and this represents the first step in releasing work orders in production. Work orders opened in this way are assigned the status Open.
Plus, opening work orders is the first step in when trying to directly control manufacturing process.
The steps to follow will be creating work documentation reports for open work orders and changing status of work orders to Released. To do this you have to open Process Work Orders in Manufacturing module.
Besides opening work orders when starting production from plan, you can also open individual WO by the so-called quick release directly from window for processing work orders. Even though you can use quick release for WOs not "covered" by sales order, the work order must be recorded in the sales order.
Releasing work orders individually is possible also by directly transferring individual lines of sales order.

Create WO from Plan Offers the Following Buttons:
Refresh Data |
Click it to refresh data, according to the selected criteria. |
Search |
Click it to release work orders according to criteria set. |
Below You Can Set the Following Criteria:
Create New WO |
By selecting this options allows you to create new work orders according to the selected criteria. |
Transfer to Existing WO |
This option enables creating of new work orders from the selected plan lines. Newly-created work orders will replace the previous ones in the same plan lines. |
Default Document Type |
Set a document type used in creating work orders. It will be used with those selected plan lines that do not have it set. |
Use Plan Spec |
If checked, uses plan lines when releasing work orders, or work orders are released according to the data in product specification. By default it is unchecked. |
Into Spec Sublevels |
If checked, offers another parameter, where you can select level. Default value is set on the grounds of the parameter Create WO in Spec Sublevels. The set value means that components in the selected plan lines will be released across all specification structure. That is, in corresponding quantities and regardless of stock. Work orders are created in sublevels only for the planned quantity which is the sum together with scrap and waste quantities.
If a phantom items - that is, item type C orU - is included in the specification and you checked parameter Compound Goods and Services as Phantoms, the IDs components of phantom item are recorded. Here the required quantities for phantom item are used when trying to calculate volume. To recalculate batch quantities quantity in work order is used always regardless of the level.
The planned quantity and number of work orders released to sublevels depend on whether you set Transfer Order to WO. If 1 Piece = 1 WO was set for item, then the number of work orders is equivalent to the planned quantity. That is 1. If you have not entered an integer as quantity in the work order, the number is rounded up.
When creating is carried out in sublevels you can first create work orders at the lower level - semi-finished products. This is then followed by higher levels - products. The order in which work orders are created can be set with parameters WO Creation Bottom-Up which can be found in the Administration Panel | Program Parameters | Manufacturing | Work Orders | Create WO.
|
To Level |
Here you can select the level to which work orders will be created. . |
Primary Resource |
Displays resource priority. Priorities can be set in Resource priority code list (double click in Priority field or go to Settings\Manufacturing\Resources\ Resource priority).
Here you can select the Resource that will be primary to work orders that will be created.
|
Copy Tools |
If checked, releases tools in work documentation as well. |
Copy Small Tools |
If checked, releases small tools in work documentation as well.
|
Transfer Regulations |
If checked, transfers regulations in work documentation as well. |
Below you can find additional criteria allowing you to further restrict selection of work orders-
Release only Unreleased Lines |
If checked, displays and released to production only those lines where you have not opened work orders. Should you check it, the above option automatically changes to Create New WO. |
Start Date From |
Enter or select the initial start date and time in order to restrict selection. |
To |
Enter or select the start date and time in order to restrict selection. |
End Time From |
Enter or select the end date and time in order to restrict selection. |
To |
Enter or select the end date and time in order to restrict selection. |
Priority |
Priority of plan item |
Top right you can find a box where you can set item types.

Select item type of lines in plan for which work orders will be released. The selection is restricted by items of type P - Products (products/semi-finished products), C - Compound Goods as well as U - Compound Services. Whether items of type C and U are available depends on how you set phantom functionality in program parameters settings.
Alt. |
Select an alternate. To say, you can select it from a table from a product specification. When creating a work order the selected alternate is used. |

All plan lines from which you opened Create WO are contained in the list of plan lines. Having made any changes to criteria click Refresh Data.
Check the lines to release and click Search in order to open a window for releasing work orders from plan lines.
 |
Right-clicking enables faster selection: Select All / Deselect All / Invert Selection.
 |
After releasing a message is returned in case document type is not set in any of the selected lines informing you that you must enter the default document type.

Then you have to confirm the message in order to proceed with the operation.
Should you cancel the message you return to the initial window where you can set criteria.

Step in the procedure can be observed from status bar.
After automatic release completes successfully, a window showing released work orders is displayed. Here are displayed IDs of newly-released work orders.
Created work orders include IDs of sales orders entered in lines of plan. Otherwise, the IDs of created WOs are recorded. When creating WOs in sublevels child WOs contain ID of primary or parent WO.
If line of plan was created from order and the serial number tracking is checked for item, they are transferred to the work order. The number of serial numbers transferred match the quantity in work order, that is, the quantity which was not entered in any other work order.
After creating work orders, the order is assigned the status as set in the Document Types | Work Orders | Linked Doc. Types | Sales Orders. If the current status is higher than the one set in linked document types, the status change is not committed. If the Sales Orders window is opened during creation of WOs, data are refreshed.
It has to be noted that the picking list will not be created for orders with the same or higher status than the one set (in Administration Panel|Settings|Program Parameters|Orders).
If it is set in document type of internal issue, you can automatically assign serial numbers .

Click report
icon in order to create a log.
In case of incorrectly set criteria when you would like to release lines of plan once again, you receive a warning in status bar , telling you that there is no data matching the criteria.
First, it checks for lines NOT created from orders, that is, whether a corresponding work order exists or not.
As second step it checks for lines created from orders. It checks the ordered quantity entered in work orders for each line as well as what is the planned quantity from plan. Based on this the available quantity is calculated. If the available quantity (ordered_quantity_WO - quantity_processed_lines) is smaller than the one entered in plan, you will not be able to create a work order. You are informed about this and a message is returned for each line containing the following:
- Order No.
- Order Line
- Plan Item
- Plan Line No.
- Ordered Quantity
- Planned Quantity for order line in all plans of this document type
- Quantity on work orders already created from order line
- Plan Line Quantity
- Difference - negative available quantity
