Creating a Planning Document

In the Planning module in PANTHEON, you can prepare a business plan for sales, purchasing, finances, and payroll.
The following case presents the process of creating and analyzing the plan.

CASE SUMMARY
The person responsible wants to create a business plan for the in-house Tecta cafe for the year 2020. The person responsible wants the plan to include sales values, purchasing, financial indicators, and payroll costs. The business plan is created as follows:

1. Selecting and Creating a New Planning Document
The person responsible wants to create a new planning document. To do this, the person responsible selects Analytics | Planning and document type NA00 - Planning in the navigation menu.

A Planning window opens. Clicking the
(Insert Record) button creates a new planning document.
In the Date field, the person responsible enters the date of creating the plan and in the Name field, the plan name.

Next, the person responsible enters General data.
2. Entering General Planning Data
With general planning data, the person responsible defines the planning period and planning unit. Of the additional data on the tab, the person responsible only defines the necessary ones.
To do this, the person responsible selects a month for the planning unit, in the Planning Unit section.
For the Plan Start month, the person responsible selects January 2020 and December 2020 for the Plan End.

In the Planned By field, the person responsible for creating the plan is entered.
The person responsible confirms the newly created planning document by clicking the
(Save Changes) button.
3. Planning Sales
The Sales tab is used for planning sales, or entering planning sales data.
The program automatically creates columns for entering the plan, for the period defined on the General tab.
To create a value plan, the person responsible selects the display option Value from the drop-down menu in the Show field.

The display currency is defined in the General panel.

In the upper table, the person responsible enters a description of the plan in the field, in this case Sales BAR.
To create an additional line, the person responsible presses the DOWN key and enters the line name. The person responsible clicks the field for entering value for January 2020.
The detailed table below opens, where the person responsible enters plan data.

HINT
For planning on the basis of realization of previous data (previous realizations), you can use the Plan Generator.

In the Value field, the person responsible enters the monthly sales plan. In other fields, detailed plan data, such as Item, Customer, etc., can be defined as needed.
The person responsible selects Warehouse BAR, which is used by the Tecta in-house bar.
If the person responsible wants to add additional lines, this can be done by pressing the DOWN key.

Right-clicking the line offers the option to Copy a line.

The monthly plan value from the lower detailed table is visible in the upper, main table.
The person responsible wants to transfer the value and properties of the plan from the first month to all following months. This is done by right-clicking the value and selecting Copy to All Following Periods. If values already exist, you can choose between Add and Overwrite.

HINT
In the main or detailed planning table, you can paste data previously copied from Excel by selecting the Wizard feature Paste from Excel. The Wizard also includes the feature of copying from orders.

Values and Properties are copied to all later periods.

With this, the sales planning is finished.
The person responsible continues to planning purchasing.
4. Planning Purchasing
The Purchasing tab is used for planning purchasing or entering purchasing plan data.
The person responsible selects the value display and enters the line name.

Following the same steps described above (Planning Sales), the person responsible enters the value and limits the warehouse for all months in the year.

The person responsible continues to planning finances.
5. Planning Finances
The Financials tab is used for planning finances or entering finance plan data.
The person responsible wants to plan a purchasing calculation in the in-house bar.
The person responsible selects the Financials tab.
The person responsible enters the line name and enters the desired formula in the Formula field.

The person responsible clicks the field for entering the value for January 2020.
The following detailed table opens, where the person responsible enters detailed plan data.
In the Value field, the person responsible enters the planned value and limits the calculation location as desired with the fields Cost Center, Department, and Account.

The values are copied to the main table.
In the main table, the person responsible right-clicks the January 2020 value and selects Copy to All Following Periods. This copies the value and properties to all subsequent periods.

Plan data is now copied to all months of the year 2020.
The person responsible continues to planning payroll.
6. Planning Payroll
The Payroll tab is used for planning payroll or entering payroll plan data. The data entry process is the same as the process for planning sales or purchasing.
The person responsible wants to plan the net salary costs for Carla Cafe, who is employed in the in-house bar.
To set the main table to show the values of net salary, the person responsible selects the option Net from the list in the Show field

In the main table, the person responsible enters the line name.
The person responsible clicks the field for entering the value for January 2020.
The following detailed table opens, where the person responsible enters detailed plan data.
In the Net field, the person responsible enters the planned net value, and selects Carla Cafe from the Subjects Register list in the Subject field.

The values are copied to the main table.
The person responsible right-clicks the value and selects Copy to All Following Periods. This copies the value and properties to all subsequent periods.

Plan data is now copied to all months of the year 2020.

The creation of the Sales, Purchasing, Finance, and Payroll is now complete.
The person responsible can continue to the Planning Document Analysis.
