IRIS is a system for troubleshooting (i.e. solving problems in the program) and self-support (see Automatic Posting |
Posting Errors). Instead of short and cryptic error messages, it gives a detailed description of the error, the most probable causes and solutions, as well as links to the related windows.

(titlebar)
|
The titlebar shows the error code and error description.
The Help button can also be found on all IRIS windows. Its function is the same as in all other windows: clicking it opens the Help menu, double-clicking it opens Help on the topic regarding the error in question, where additional information on the error might be available.
|
(description) |
A detailed description of the error is given at the top of the IRIS window. |
(buttons and solutions) |
Solutions and buttons leading to the related windows are listed below the error description.
Some errors have more than one or multiple possible solutions, while others have less, depending on the type of error.

 |
The related windows can only be opened if the user has the required
authorization! |
Taskbar in IRIS message window includes icons for special and general functions.
Like most windows in PANTHEON, every IRIS window has a Help button
. Clicking it opens the Help topic that describes the error and possible solutions in more detail.
