Copy breeds from

For animal breeds, we can PANETHON VET create a new code, download preset breeds for each localization from the server, or copy them from one category of animals to another. This functionality is useful when we already have breeds entered for a specific category and want to rearrange the animal classification system.

The functionality is available by clicking in the menu Veterinary | Codes | Animal breed codes.

Below, we have prepared a user case for you, where we demonstrate copying a breed.

CASE DESCRIPTION

The veterinarian wants to copy the breeds from the animal category: donkey to the category: mule in the animal breed codes. They do this in the following way:

  1. Opening Animal Breed Codes
  2. Selecting the animal category
  3. Copying the breed

1. Opening Animal Breed Codes

The responsible person wants to copy the donkey breeds in the animal breed codes to the mule animal category.

For this purpose, they select the menu Veterinary | Codes | Animal breed codes.

The animal breed codes open, in which they have built their animal classification system.

2. Selecting the animal category

In the section Animal type they click on the position: Equids.

TIP

The responsible person can review the codes of animal types in the codes using the toggle (Show only active). When the toggle is checked, only active records appear in the list; when it is empty, both active and inactive code records are displayed.

When they click on the desired animal type position, the existing categories are populated in the lower section Animal categories , in our case, they click on the category: Mule.

As shown in the image above, we see that there are no breeds entered for this category.

TIP

Instructions for adding a new breed to the already existing list of breeds can be found in the chapter Creating a new code for an animal breed.

They continue with copying the breeds.

3. Copying the breed

In the section Animal breeds on the right side, they manually enter "donkey" in the empty field and select it from the dropdown list.

The button  (Copy breeds from) becomes highlighted or activated.

The responsible person clicks the button to copy the breeds.

A window appears with the information: Copying has been successfully completed!

They confirm the window by clicking the button Confirm.

In the codes, they see that the breeds have been copied (as shown in the image below).

TIP

Preset animal breeds can be downloaded from the server; the description of the download is outlined in the chapter Downloading breeds from the server.
