Import breeds

Import breeds s Online services facilitates and speeds up work, as it avoids individual breed entries and allows us to import the entire range of animal breeds with just a few clicks.

The functionality is available by clicking in the menu Veterinary | Codes | Code of animal species, where in the toolbar you click on the button  (Import/Export data).

TIP

You can read the technical instructions for importing breeds from the server in the chapter Import breeds.

Below, we have prepared an example of importing animal breeds from the server for you.

CASE DESCRIPTION

The veterinarian wants to enter the breed of calves into the set of animal breeds. Pre-prepared animal breeds can be downloaded from the web server. This is done in the following steps:

  1. Opening the Code of animal species
  2. Selecting the category of animals
  3. Importing breeds from the server
  4. Saving to the database

1. Opening the Code of animal species

The responsible person wants to transfer the breeds of calves from the web server into the code of animal species.

For this purpose, they select the menu Veterinary | Codes | Code of animal species.

The code of animal species opens, in which they have built their own classification system for animals.

2. Selecting the category of animals

In the section Animal species they click on the position: Cattle.

TIP

The responsible person can review the codes of animal species in the code using the toggle (Show only active). When the toggle is checked, only active records are displayed in the list, while when it is empty, both active and inactive records of codes are shown.

When they click on the desired animal species position, the records of already existing categories fill in the lower section Animal categories , in our case they click on the category: Calf.

As shown in the image above, we see that for this category no breed has been entered.

TIP

Instructions for adding a new breed to the already existing list of breeds can be read in the chapter Creating a new code for the animal breed.

3. Importing breeds from the server

PANTHEON VET allows the transfer of pre-prepared data from the server in some codes.

The responsible person wants to download breeds for calves from the server.

In the toolbar, they click on the button  (Import/Export) and select the option Import breedsfrom the dropdown list.

A window appears Animal breeds - import search tables.

In the empty form, they specify the criteria in the section Criteria for which they want to download breeds from the server.

In our case, they select in the field For country: SI.

Next, all toggles or animal species are automatically checked.

They uncheck all except: Cattle.

By clicking the button  (Download from server) all breeds of cattle for localization SI are transferred to the lower part of the window.

By default, all breeds are marked for import. In our case, they leave all selected.

TIP

On the list of breeds, we can remove checkmarks if we want to import only the breeds we need.

4. Saving to the database

In the last step, the responsible person clicks the button  (Save to database).

A window appears with the information: Completed.

The pop-up window Confirms and closes the window Animal breeds - import search tables.

The selected breeds have been transferred to the code of animal species (as shown in the image below).
