Work orders can be created in the following two ways:
1. From a Sales Order
To transfer data to work order first enter sales order for deliverable and then transfer by using the
To WO function. By using this function
specification created in sales order is transferred to work order together with the quantity of ordered deliverables.
| A work order is opened for each composite material from sales order. Should you therefore have multiple composite items in sales orders that were transferred to work order, there exist as many work orders as there are composite items. |
If serial number tracking is checked for item, they are transferred to the created work order. The number of serial numbers transferred match the quantity in work order, that is, the quantity which is not entered in any other work order.
2. Directly Entering Data to a New Work Order
Clicking
or by clicking
opens a new panel for entering work order. Specification of deliverable will be as defined in the
Items register. You can change or modify it when
processing work order.
 | Pressing <INS> adds a new line to the list where you can enter relevant work order data. |

You cannot leave the item field empty. Otherwise a message is returned.

In case of multi-level specification as many work orders are created as there are levels in specification. Will work orders be created into specification sublevels, depends on whether or not you checked
In Spec Sublevels that can be found in Administration Panel.
Number of work orders depends on parameter Transfer to WO that can be found in the
Items register, and which is used by creating WOs on the lowest level. Of course, if 1 Piece = 1 WO is set for product or semi-finished product, work orders are created at the lowest level using quantity 1. On the other hand should optimum quantity be set, work order is created according to the set optimum quantity.
(creating WO according to transfer mode used)
In multi-level specification you select WO creation order if you previously checked
WO Creation Bottom-Up in Administration Panel, in order to create WOs on lower levels. To put it differently, work orders are first created fro semi-finished products which are only then followed by products. You can select WO creation order with both of the above-mentioned methods.
Will work orders be created into specification sublevels, depends on whether or not you checked
In Spec Sublevels that can be found in Administration Panel.
See also examples for work order processing in multi-level specification.
| Below you can observe what happens in case you have a multi-level specification for compound item (e.g. A). Semi-finished products B and C are also included in the specification for composite material:
- a work order will be created for parent item (WO for A),
- and one work order will be created for each child item, respectively (WO for B, and WO for C).
|
If you enter number and line of order when entering a new work order, serial number from line of product are transferred to work order. That is, they will be transferred only if you have not entered them to any other work order.
A check is run for all created work orders linked to the line of order whenever you enter a new number or line. The following IRIS message is returned
5362 - Work orders for order line already created! when an error occurs.
