Creating a new warehouse
To make the logistics easier and maintain a better overview of business operations, companies use several warehouses with different item types.
A new warehouse is typically created when the company wants to have several separate warehouses for goods. This chapter presents an example of how to create a new warehouse in PANTHEON.

CASE SUMMARY
Warren Warehouse, Tecta Warehouse Manager, wants to create a new warehouse and name it Warehouse BAR. This warehouse will be used for the goods of Tecta in-house bar, so it is necessary to set up an issue document 3210 – POS BAR. This is done as follows:
- Creating a new warehouse
- Setting up a new warehouse
- Defining the new warehouse on the issue document

1. Creating a new warehouse
In PANTHEON, warehouses are located in the Subjects register. To create a new warehouse, the person responsible wants first opens the Subjects register by opening the menu
- Settings | Subjects | Subjects or pressing the key F11.

You can quickly open the Subjects register by double-clicking on the subject name in any PANTHEON document.

- The person responsible starts to enter the main data. In the fields ID, Name 2 and Name 3, the desired name and description of the warehouse are entered: Warehouse BAR.
- Optionally, the Address and Postal code of the warehouse and any other information can be entered.

- In panel General, the checkbox Warehouse is checked. This categorizes the subject as a warehouse in the Subjects register.

- By clicking the button
(Post edit) in the toolbar, the new warehouse is saved. Then, the person responsible defines the settings of the new warehouse.

WARNING
If the checkbox Warehouse in the Subjects register is not checked, this warehouse will not be available when creating documents in PANTHEON.

2. Setting up a new warehouse
In the second step, the person responsible wants to define the settings of the newly created Warehouse BAR. These are located under the panel Warehouse in the Subjects register.

The Subjects register is opened by opening the menu Settings | Subjects | Subjects.

The person responsible first clicks the button
(three dots) in the toolbar, starts typing "ware" to narrow down the set of subjects in the register and then selects the Warehouse BAR by clicking on it.

Advanced warehouse settings are opened by clicking the checkbox Warehouse (
).

The person responsible would like to keep stock at this warehouse, so the person responsible checks the checkbox Stock tracking.

Among the several available methods of stock tracking in PANTHEON, the person responsible decides to select the following method from the drop-down list: P - Average purchase prices.

Because the person responsible would also like to have an overview of available stock, the checkbox Show in free stock reports is checked.

The person responsible also checks the checkboxes Post at retail price and Allow negative stock.

- In order to use the warehouse, the radio button Subject status: must be set to Active. This status is automatically assigned when the subject is created.

- By clicking the toolbar button
(Post edit) . the person responsible saves all the changes and proceeds to set up the new warehouse on the issue document.
3. Defining the new warehouse on the issue document
To issue goods at the Tecta in-house bar, the person responsible wants to set up the Warehouse BAR as the issuing warehouse. The issuing document 3210 – POS BAR will be used for invoices.

In the main menu, the menu Settings | Program | Document Types is opened. This opens the Document types register.

In the left-side panel, Goods | POS is selected.

In the toolbar, the arrows are used to select the document: 3210 – POS BAR.

In the field Issuer of the panel Material data transfer, Warehouse BAR is selected from the drop-down menu.

The changes are saved by clicking the toolbar button
(Post edit).

Now, the document is ready to be used when issuing goods from the Warehouse BAR. This completes the process of creating and setting up a new warehouse.
