Form authorizations

In PANTHEON, there are over one thousand and seven hundred authorisations for which we can set permissions. For each authorisation, it is defined with which form it is connected. This information enables us to check permissions for authorisations on individual forms as well.

The feature, with which we check and edit authorisations on the form where we are currently at and for the user, can be accessed on arbitrary PANTHEON forms,, by clicking the Templates button in the toolbar, and then selecting Form authorisations.

CASE SUMMARY

Due to unexpected longer absence of an employee, accounting needed additional help with entering data on receiving documents. For this purpose, they trained an employee from the purchase department, Purchase Pat, to take over part of tasks for data input. When Pat started working on document 1700, the program reported that she does not have permissions.

Pat checked her authorisations on the form and let the person responsible at the company know that the proper permissions on authorisations must be set for her, so that she can do her work without interruption. Purchase Pat does this in the following way:

On document 1700, she wants to check the permissions on authorisations for data input, which are connected to the aforementioned form.

For this purpose, she clicks the Templates button and selects Form authorisations.

The Form authorisations form opens, where Purchase Pat can see the tree structure the authorisations that are connected to the form.

Next to each authorisation, she sees an icon, from which she can see what type of permission is set.

In this case, Purchase Pat realizes that she has no permissions (or has the permission none) on authorisations.

To be able to do her work properly, she needs to have at least the Read permission on all authorisations.

She lets the person responsible know what she has realized, so that the person responsible can set her the proper permissions for authorisations.
