Security

The Security tab combines all security settings for individual group. Here, you can copy permissions or membership from source principal to the selected group, add or remove members of the group and edit permissions of groups for working with different databases.

The tab is accessed by clicking the individual panel of group on the Groups panel in Administration Panel.

The tab is made up of certain subtabs. A detailed description of the elements and functionalities on the tabs are described in chapters of individual user panel in Users, see the links below.

HINT The settings on the tabs in Groups  apply to all users who are members of the group.

• General –  enables copying permissions and/or membership from other users and groups and editing permissions for the selected group. The form has the same functionality as for an individual user.
• Permissions – enables managing group permissions on the authorizations tree. The form has the same functionality as for an individual user.
• Members – allows adding users to groups or removing them the groups.
• Member Of – is an inactive tab on individual group. The tab is active on the Users panel.
• Databases – enables copying permissions and/or memberships from databases on the same SQL server instance to the selected group. The form has the same functionality as for an individual user.
