Entering Data for Item Pricing

Entering Data for Item Pricing

In the Items register, we keep all information related to the Idents.. This chapter presents a use case for editing Ident data.

Case summary

The responsible person wants to edit the Ident data related to the calculation. They do this in the following steps:

  1. Selecting a Register
  2. Select Costing/Pricing
  3. Set Purchases
  4. Set Pricing

1. Selecting a Register

First open the Items register from the menu.

2. Select Pricing

Go to the Costing/Pricing panel.

Here you can set pricing for items. Pricing can be set in numerous ways:

  • manually (when receiving or issuing)
  • add pricing to the fixed asset when receivingthe supplier invoice
  • transfer prices from external pricing such as those made by using Microsoft Excel
  • create price list
  • set pricing dynamically by using a formula
  • enter price directly in Costing/Pricing panel in the Items register
  • copy pricing using Item Categories register

The panel is divided into two sections:

  • Costing, and
  • Pricing

Warning
If you check Alllow Separate Pricing for Each Warehouse in the Administrtion Panel | Program Parameters | Items | General, an additioanl panel appears where you can set and view data on separate pricing (see Separate Pricing (LKPC)).

3. Set Purchases

Here you can enter and view supplier's price, lines of costing and item's purchase price

Warning
Enter any missing information manually. If you select so in the Document Types of Receiving settings, costing is updated automatically from costing of receiving.

Just like with the costing of receiving you can enter discount, transport costs, customs and direct costs both in percentage value or as amount. Two pieces of data are linked: Having entered one, the other is calculated automatically.

Enter supplier's price which represents the purchase price for which you can set the original currency in the In FCY field. Enter discount, transport, customs and direct cost either as percentage or whole amount of net supplier's price plus transport.

Because the customs and costing bases of purchase price are not equal due to different exchange rates, actual percantage of customs costs is usually not shown in costing. See calculation method for customs cost. Here the percentage or amount of excise duty is included as information on customs duty – see SAD for import.

The Deviation from Fixed Price shows the difference between the actual assessed purchase price and the fixed price that can be found in the Fixed Prices register. The purchase price of goods that is the net supplier price plus the transport cost, customs and direct cost appears in Gross in LCY.

Warning
  • Amounts entered in the costing panel make up the template for actual costing.
  • Individual users can be banned from entering and viewing of this panel by zero authorizations for costing granted.

4. Set Pricing

Pricing is designated for calculating and setting sale price as well as all other data influencing on it.

Warning
In field Minimum Margain we add minimal margin that is fixed for this item.

(If the minimal margin value is entered, the price in the contracted price list is lower than the specified minimum margin, Pantheo considers the price from the contract price list)

Using the Price Calculation box you can set how the sale price will be changing when modifiying pricing lines. For each individual item you can select the following:

  • Sale Price is Fixed - By selecting it you keep fixred sales prices regardless of the changes made to purchase price. Selecting it you will make changes to prices using price change document.
  • Markup is Fixed, Recalculate Sale Prices at Purchase - By selecting it you keep fixed mark-up of purchase price. That is why by any changes made to the purchase price, new sale prices are calculated according to the entered mark-up rate.
  • Gross Price and Markup is Fixed - By selecting it new sale prices are calculated in accordance with the last supplier's price (other pricing elements of the purchase price are not considered).
  • To calculate sale prices when changes are made to the purchase price check Fill-in Sale price by Item in document type used in pricing if you want prices calculated entered to the panel.
