When logging in the user enters his or her two-character user ID at the same time giving information on the level of authorizations they are assigned.

The default user authorizations is set by parent user group authorizations. Any changes made to group authorizations is reflected in user authorizations also. Of course, you can change authorizations for single users so as to meet their requirements.

Authorizations are displayed in tree view in the panel for assigning user authorizations. There are also icons displayed used in order to show the level of authorizations assigned to the currently selected user.

Assign one of four authorization levels:

44538.gif by using the selection table in taskbar
44539.gif by right-clicking the authorizations tree view

44540.gif Time Limit for Making Changes - the data is used in assigning authorizations for individual documents. Set the number of days from document date during which the user is allowed to change/delete the document:
  • 0 = the current day
  • 1 = the current day and a day earlier
  • 30 = past 30 days
  • -1 = no restrictions - you can make changes at will
44459.gif For details see authorization levels.

There are two additional funcitons that can be found in authorizations menu:

44460.jpg Restore/Copy Parent Group Status - By using this function the user authorizations are repleced by the default authorizations of the parent user group.
44541.gif Copy Authorizations from Other User - By using this function assigns exactly the same authorizations as assigned to some other user to the currently selected user.

You can perform copying by selecting a user from selection table and then click 44462.jpg copy button.

When copying user settings it is required that you select user ID. If you leave the field empty, the following error is returned (see Source user must be defined!).

Before trying to copy authorizations you need to confirm the operation (see Are you sure you want to copy authorization settings from user (xx)?).

44463.jpg Multiplies authorization settings to the entire group of user or to the entire user group and all its members. Selecting either of the two options returns the following IRIS message (see  4013 Copy authorization settings from user (xx) to group (yy)).

44470.gif 44471.gif LT edition does not support authorizations, that is, you can assign it on the level of the entire program - for description see Users.
