Transfer

Transfer

Transfer is used for transferring movements from one ID to another. A window is opened in order for you to set transfer of movements. In particular, it is useful after establishing that you have two or more IDs assigned for the same item and you would like to merge them and delete the rest.

Of course you cannot delete any ID as long as it appears in the document in database. First you have to perform data transfer.

To transfer data from one ID to another in the Items register, you have to select:

Item From

Enter or select name of item to transfer (terminate).
Item To

Enter or select name of item to which to transfer.

It is wise that you select ID from lookup table which can be opened by clicking 006735.gif.

An error is returned if the ID does not exist in the register.

Transfer Clicking the button launches data transfer from one ID to another. You have to confirm the operation (see Do you really want to transfer data?). After the operation has finished, the following notification is returned (see Data transfer complete!).

In case of duplicated records existing in the register, you have a choice of keeping the records in:

  • source record

  • target record

000001.gif This process is irreversible. You cannot undo data transfer.
000001.gif Transferring ID does not delete it. To do this, click 20232.jpg in taskbar.
000001.gif You will not be able to delete an ID if any documents are linked to it! An error will be returned, listing databases where the ID is recorded.
This also cannot be undone!

000001.gif User must be assigned adequate authorizations (at least write authorizations) to be able to use this function! If this is not the case, an error is returned (see You are not authorised for this operation!).
