Click Close WO in WO Creation (Process Work Orders) in order to close work order.

Similarly as you can close work orders you can also reactivate them. For details see follow-up.

Having clicked the button for closing a message appears by which you can confirm the operation. Select Yes in order to confirm the operation or return to the start by selecting No.

58712.gif The closing process starts automatically if you checked Auto-Close WO when Released Qty Reached when setting-up work order document types in General. In addition all conditions must be met, that is, the work order realization, according to volume and in compliance with the settings of document type used in manufacturing plus all lines of transactions must be marked as finished.
 

Having confirmed closing the process starts. Certain conditions have to be met in order to successfully close work order. The former depend on the settings of work order document types as can be observed in the follow-up.

If quantities recorded in lines of material are not issued to work order completely and reported operations and the default product quantity are not issued from work order to warehouse, the closing is not executed. Error messages are returned when trying to close work orders.

The condition that has to be met when closing work orders is that all lines of work order are marked as finished (Finished checkbox is checked). Closing is then performed automatically. For details on how to execute it manually see follow-up.

 

You cannot close work order for which serial numbers were allocated. They were entered in lines for issuing quantities which have not been confirmed or in lines for receiving quantities which have not been confirmed. It is required to relieve serial numbers or confirm issue/receiving of the entered quantities. The following message is returned in some cases: 4572 - Error closing WO!

Wok order does not contain total received quantity.
This messages informs you that products were not received from work order in quantity planned.
Quantity not issued
This message informs you that line of material has not been issued completely in quantity required for WO. A number of alternate line is specified together with line number.
Item
displays items and name of material from line of material for issuing.
Scrap not issued
This message informs you that quantity of scrap contained in line of material has not been issued completely as required for WO. A number of alternate line is specified together with line number.
Item

Waste not issued
This message informs you that quantity of waste contained in line of material has not been issued completely as required for WO. A number of alternate line is specified together with line number.

Time not used
This message informs you that production time has not been reported for operation (used) as required to WO. A number of alternate line is specified together with line number.
Item
Displays item and name of operation the work for which was not fully reported.
Whether conditions for closing work orders are met depends on settings of work order document types where a check can be set for used quantity according to quantity required in work order.

In case quantity check for work order is set in document type you have to issue adequate quantities before you can close the work order. You will be unable to manually check Finished checkbox. As can be observed on the image below you can issue missing quantities when attempting to mark line of material as finished. Should you select this option the missing quantities are entered automatically. Click Confirm Issue.

You are refused to check line of operation as finished plus the following message appears. First you should report total production time.

In case you set Used Quantity Must Be Equal or Less Than Required in work order document types you can check the missing quantities as finished confirming them subsequently. This way conditions are met allowing you to close WO.

In case you set Used Quantity Must Be Equal or Greater Than Required in work order document types you have to issue missing quantities confirming them subsequently.

In case you set No Used Quantity Check in work order document types you can check the missing quantities as finished confirming them subsequently. This way conditions are met allowing you to close WO. If line of work order you checked as finished contains allocated quantities, they get released.

Having closed work order, you can reopen it. To do this click Open WO in WO Creation. You have to confirm opening of work order and having confirmed the operation the status is changed to Partially Finished. Thus you are allowed continue executing material and working transactions. Using the above-mentioned button enables you to close work orders which are open and open those which are closed.
