Add Lines

Add Lines of Material

Here we will only deal with adding lines of material. The operation of adding lines of operation, which is similar, is dealt with in a separate topic.

Lines of material contain standard quantity of material (components, ingredients) comprising a specification (assembly).

 

Selecting the Materials tab opens a panel for editing lines in the Product Specification window where you can add, modify, delete or just view lines of specification. You have to be assigned adequate authorizations to call up certain functions.

Moreover, a list of materials comprising specification is generated in the top section. In addition data get updated in the Specification panel.

Here are displayed contents of the line you selected in the specification of materials above.

 

000001.gif Whenever an ID of materiač or (semi-finished) product is marked as inactive in Items, it is colored red in lines of material.

 

Top panel section contains a toolbar where you can set an alternate, line and item (plus enter or select description). On the right is a taskbar containing the essential buttons:

Alt.
Enter or select an alternate of the selected line or a newly-entered line. Alternate 0 is set by default. You can set alternates from 1 to 255. Set an alternate for lines of specification.

 

It is predefined that a the currently selected active alternate is set for a newly-added line of material. Otherwise the default alternate 0 is used.

Line
Displays a number of the selected line or of a newly-entered line. You can change it at will. Here is by default displayed the next consecutive number according to the settings in Administration Panel | Program Parameters | Specification. Or it is selected from a list.
Item
Enter or select an item ID. From the lookup table you can select an item according to criteria such as ID, name or item type. Here aren't included items of type S. To set whether all items or only active ones will be displayed, check Select Lines Only among Active Items. It can be found in Settings | Program | Administration Panel | Settings | Program Parameters | Manufacturing | Specification | Default Values. 
A message is returned if you leave the field empty.

When adding lines of specification, default values are entered to new lines. These default values are set in the Item Categories register of Specification panel. To set method for filling-in default values, set it in Administration Panel | Settings | Program Parameters | Manufacturing | Specifications | General - Materials | Spec Lines box.
