Recalculation of prices is used mostly for changing entered data that is why you should be careful using it since it cause the existing data to be overwritten!
Enter criteria in the Pricing panel of Item Categories register used in recalculating purchase and/or sales prices of items belonging to the currently selected category.

Before attempting to recalculate and subsequently enter new amounts in Items register, you have to confirm the operation:
